Representatives of Coventry University visit FLE China Office
On the morning of 11 November Beijing time, Mr. George Haughie, Lecturer in Business English and Technology Teaching at Coventry University, and Jenny Shi FLE, Deputy Director of the China Office of the Academic Cooperation Branch of the University of Coventry, visited the China Office.
Ms. Lionel Pan, Deputy General Manager of FLE, introduced the business segment of FLE to the two delegates, and both representatives also acknowledged the achievements of FLE in the past in the field of international education, such as co-educational, curriculum docking, etc.
This meeting provides an in-depth discussion on English learning and the IELTS exam. Ms. Lionel Pan, deputy general manager of FLE, said that English learning has become a popular trend in China in recent years, and more and more Chinese students are looking abroad to learn authentic English expressions. Mr. George Haughie says Chinese students have their own unique approach to Learning English, and the results of Chinese students in the IELTS test are improving year by year. The two sides also conducted an in-depth analysis of the differences between Chinese and foreign students in English learning and the mistakes of Chinese students in English learning. Finally, on behalf of the University of Coventry, Mr. George Haughie reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation projects and modalities for collaboration with FLE in English learning and IELTS.
